Very useful cable
Review by Algebraic M. on 18 Aug 2018review stating Very useful cable
The other review of this cable from March 2017 is ridiculous. The reviewer gave this product 1 star because he didn't look closely at the gender of the cable in the picture before ordering. That is not a product defect, so stars should not be removed.
Let's set the record straight: this is a great and useful cable. I bought several and they do just what they are supposed to do.
The other reviewer also complained that he couldn't figure out why anyone would use this. It's fairly simple: E-Flite makes several chargers that accept the 2s UMX (JST PH) balance plug. That plug is smaller than the normal JST-XH balance plug that comes on almost all other multi-cell batteries that aren't for the UMX line. If you have a normal 2s battery with JST XH balance plug, and would like to use one of those E-Flite chargers to charge it, then you need this cable, which has a female JST XH on one end and male JST PH on the other.
Examples of chargers that you might use this with are the E-Flite Ultra Micro-4 or the E-Flite Celectra 2s, which ships with many 2s UMX models. I use regular JST XH 2s 800mah batteries with my X-Vert, but since everything else I have is UMX, I only have ever purchased the Ultra Micro-4 charger. This allows me to use that charger for these regular JST XH 2s batteries also, rather than having to buy another charger.
I will agree with the other reviewer that Horizon could be clearer about gender on the product specification page, but the cable itself is fine. I will buy one or two more in the future as I get more batteries for the X-Vert.

BE CAREFULL! Make sure this is right for you!
Review by Foxy on 24 Mar 2017review stating BE CAREFULL! Make sure this is right for you!
I wanted an adapter that would let me charge my Horizon Hobby J-3 Cub's weird 2S-200mah batteries (JST-PH plug) with the "normal" types of chargers that most of us have. In other words, I needed an adapter to allow me to use any of the many, many, typical H.H. chargers I already own that have JST-XH sockets. My error: I didn't pay close enough attention to the gender on this adapter. Therefore, I CAN NOT CHARGE THE CUB BATTERIES WITH MY H.H. CHARGERS! The description of the adapter sounded right, but you can NOT charge a "JST-PH" battery using this adapter and your typical Horizon Hobby chargers. I'm wondering two things: 1) Why did HH go with JST-PH plugs on planes such as this J-3 Cub, and 2) Why wasn't there more in the way of examples of this adapter, say, in use. Remember, gender mixups on fixtures are way too common, at least in my opinion. (Yes, I know it's theoretically possible to solder up my own adapter, and yes, I know about the $8.99 charge adapter that fits just SOME chargers.)

Q: Need to know,, Is this a JST-PH Male, to JST-XH Female?????
A: It is XH female (socket). The larger connector, nearest in the photo, is the XH connector.
