What Happened

I would agree with others. Very poor quality and fails very quicky. Keeps you coming back for more . Doesn't work much better than the mcpx tail.

Poor Quality!

At first glance, the tail boom assembly looks great! The motor, motor-mount and rotor are good quality, but all that quality becomes useless because of the poor quality of the boom itself. The boom is a carbon-fiber tube and the motor wire runs within it. It takes only 2 minor crashes or hard landings and the carbon-fiber begins to shred where the boom mates to the helicopter's main body. After that begins to happen, just the vibration of the helicopter causes the boom to continue shredding. In no time, you have a boom that looks like a paint-brush on one end and is no longer usable! So far, I have purchased 6 of these tail booms! I am going to try what another reviewer suggests and buy a solid carbon-fiber rod and make my own boom.

Suggestion to the engineers: Wrap the mating end of the boom with a very thin carbon-fiber tape so that the fiber runs 90 degrees to the fiber in the boom.

I bought a few of these before I Learned

Aside from looking good (wires are tucked nicely inside the boom), this thing is pretty worthless. Broke the first one I owned on my mCPx's maiden flight. Since then, I bought a few more and chopped them up before installing just to steal the motor and housing. If you're the crafty type, buy a MH motor mount, a stick of solid carbon rod, and now I've discovered you can get the motor alone from eBay. I made three solid tail booms I can't break for the price of this thing that didn't last 5 minutes. If you're not the crafty type and you don't have time on your hands, buy this thing. And P.S., if that's the case, you're in the wrong hobby.

Tail boom

I agree with the other this hollow tail boom look good with the wiring inside,but it is highly inefficient.Broke on a very low impact landing.
I ordered a new one and made my own out solid carbon rod ,I used small shrink tubing{in small peaces} to secure the wiring to the boom.This has not fail yet,
